A little about Ballybeen Hall:
After a demolition programme carried out in the Newtownards Road area of Belfast people resettled in the newly built estate of Ballybeen just outside Dundonald.
The vision of the Belfast City Mission was to establish a work within this vast estate. Subsequently this vision was realised in the building of a hall March 1976 in Culross Drive.
The work in the Ballybeen estate has been ongoing for 43 years. Mr Ernie Shooter was the Missionary for 35 years until his retirement. Mr John Martin and Mr David Bisset took up the mantle of the work in Ballybeen, and the current Missionary, Mr Joseph Kennoway was appointed in 2022.
During all the years the work has been carried out faithfully and has witnessed growth with new areas of work established especially among the youth.
As well as the normal activities such as the weekly services the organisations of Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade were formed. To also supplement these youth club and youth fellowship were also established.
It remains the aim of the Belfast City Mission Ballybeen to reach out to the community of Ballybeen with the message of the Gospel of Christ Jesus both practically and spiritually.
You can be assured that you will experience the love of Christ in all that is done.
