Great Northern Street.

My name is Ivan Patterson and I am the Missionary (Evangelist) at Great Northern Street (GNS). I am married to Belle and have three grown up sons. I was appointed to Great Northern Street in 2005 having previously been employed in the Aerospace industry for over thirty years. I am also a Presbyterian Church Elder in my home congregation.

Here in Great Northern Street BCM there are a range of different activities that happen each week. These include Children`s meetings, Ladies meetings, Bible studies, Worship services, English classes etc. Great Northern Street Hall is open for anyone who wants to hear the story of Jesus especially what He has done for us in bringing God`s Salvation. We witness as to how Jesus can change lives, how He brings hope in the midst of despair and how we can be His disciples in a fallen world.

We really enjoy praising God through singing and we would love to have a praise band. If you would be interested in forming a Christian praise band contact me. I am very aware that there are many Christian students living in the district and we would love you to use your gifts, do come along and encourage us. It may also be you are a student and you are struggling to cope with assignments and course work, you can contact me or come to the Hall and talk to me in confidence any Wednesday between 10.00am and 12.00pm.  I will not do your work for you, but I may be able to show you how to do it and even if not I may know someone who does.

In addition to the various meetings and activities each week I conduct praise services in nursing and local residential homes, visit people in their own homes, conduct funerals and generally help in any way I can. We are here for the community as a whole and denominational labels are not important to us. We are not a holy huddle, neither are we Bible thumpers, but we firmly believe what the Bible teaches. Our aim is only to convey the message of Jesus in truth and love. We know we are not perfect, we are sinners in God`s sight, but we are sinners saved by Grace.
